viewership of IPL 6 in second week.

In what could be seen as a decline in viewer interest, TAM data for the second week of IPL, which was also the first full week of the tournament, indicates that the ratings of IPL have gone down by over 10 per cent compared with last year’s second week’s ratings among the core TG of CS 15+ M ABC on all-India basis.
According to data sourced from TAM subscribers, the 11 games played in the second week of IPL6 have fetched an average rating of 4.3 TVR against 4.8 TVR for 10 games played last year.
The viewership in this TG has been on a constant decline from the second season of the tournament.
In the inaugural IPL, the 9 matches in second week had averaged 7.0 TVR which slipped to 6.4 TVR in the second season for the same number of games. It went slightly up in the third season courtesy the higher number of games in the second week where 11 matches averaged 6.5 TVR. The 12 games in IPL4 averaged 5.2 TVR while 10 games in IPL5 fetched 4.8 TVR.
The first 5 games of IPL6 had fetched 5.3 TVR against 5.1 TVR for the first 6 games of IPL5.
The reach of IPL has grown this year to 138.6 million for the first 16 games compared to the last edition’s 123.9 million for 16 games. However, even the absolute reach has shown an increase, the percentage of reach compared with the universe has seen a decline.
The first 16 games of IPL6 reached 54% of the current universe which is 257 million while IPL5 had reached 59% of the universe which was 211 million for the same number of games. As far as internet is concerned IPL is the best place for indian viewers to meet and enjoy it socially so we can say that it has become more social

Venue of first Qualifier and eliminator may shift from Chennai to Bangalore`s Chinnaswamy Stadium, Delhi`s Feroze Shah Kotla and Pune`s Subrata Roy Sahara Stadium which have been shortlisted as the alternative venues.
As we know Tamil nadu government banned Srilankan players from taking part in home matches of Chennai.Kulashekara who is in Chennai team didn't get any chance to play in this season of IPL till now we have to wait and see how it turns out.
Now it all depends on this decision weather crazy Chennai crowd get a chance to see these matches in their state or not.
The first Qualifier is scheduled at the Chepauk on May 21 and the Eliminator on the following day.

how did SUNRISERS HYDERABAD manage to take good position in IPL-6 till now

If we see the points table of IPL-6 till date we can see sunrisers at 2nd spot. The factors which took them to top are
1.Bowlers
2.Youngsters having their role
3.Good training staff and mentors and
4.Overseas players performing well.

1.Bowlers:We can say that good pace bowlers like STEYN and ISHANTH.We have also seen Vihari doing well in first over.Combination of Mishra and Ashish reddy also appears to be working in the mid overs.Perera also is performing well with ball.

Facts:

  1. Amit mishra became the first bowler in IPL to take 3 hat-tricks.
  2. Amit mishra is also the highest wicket taker in IPL.
  3. Steyn,Ishant and Amit mishra are at 1,2&4 places if we take most dots as parameter, they bowled   85,75&65 respectively, not very far Perera stands at 8th with 62 delivery's.
  4. Steyn has economy rate of 5.46 which is really great figure.
  5. Steyn also holds the record  of lowest economy rate among the players who played 7 matches this season.
  6. In the list of fastest balls Steyn ranks second with 152.48 kmph.
  7. Steyn also bowled 7 maiden overs in 7 matches.
  8. Amit is one of the three 4 wicked holders this season.
  9. Amit is one wicket away from getting Purple cap.
  10. Karan sharma who played 3 matches this season has economy of 5.62 and average of 11.25.

2.Youngsters:Not like the former Deccan Chargers youngsters are doing very well for Sunrisers(Even without dhawan ).Vihari is the best in the list so far.We can see not many Local players played international matches in side still the side is performing which is a good sign to Indian cricket.parthiv patel didn't do well for side till now.Karan sharma has also shown his class with ball.

3.Training Staff:Led by Tom Moody the staff is very influential to youngsters. The staff also contains names like laxman and srikanth.Every player appears to be happy with staff, their feelings can be seen in  every press meet.

4.Overseas players:Even after missing players like sangakara and Duminey,The team don't appear to be out of touch as the are knocking good performances, till now we didn't see a very good knock from their new keeper the team appears to be fit.

One can say for sure no one expected sunrisers at this stage at start of to tournament  but now  every one has to believe it.Even in polls held by iplt20.com many people voted for a question asking"Which teams form are you shocked to see?" nearly 75% of people voted for sunrisers

This proves the fact the t20 format is really unexpectable and team work is more important than individual performance in game like cricket.

new captain for PWI

Angelo Mathews has beaten Yuvraj Singh in the race to be the new captain of Pune Warriors for IPL 6 this year. Even though Yuvraj was considered the best contender to be handed over the reigns of the team after Micahel Clarke was forced out of IPL due to injury, Mathews has managed to pocket the top job. Sourav Ganguly captained the side last year. Managing Director of Sahara Adventure Sports Limited, Sushanto Roy said on Thursday that the decision was taken by some senior players and team management, with a special mention of it being “unanimous”. Roy said in a press statement, “We had many options of international and national cricketers to choose from within the existing squad but we chose Mathews as our captain as we are confident of his leadership abilities. All the senior players in the team are happy with the choice and it is a joint decision taken by the senior players and team management. We now have a correct mix of youth and experience to launch an aggressive IPL Season 6 campaign.” Mathews reacted on this saying, “It’s a great honour to be offered the captaincy and I am grateful to the team management and franchise owners for the faith shown in me. For me personally this is a great chance to gain leadership experience working with a multi-national squad and a very exciting opportunity given the enormous talent within our young squad.”
