lee to be bowling coach for kkr

Brett Lee will be our new bowling mentor in IPL 6. Lee will take over from Wasim Akram for this season, after the latter decided to pull out of the tournament due to personal reasons. While accepting this role, Brett Lee said, “The experience with KKR over the past 3 years has been fantastic. We have become a closely-knit unit under the leadership of skipper Gambhir and Head Coach Trevor Bayliss. As we get ready for IPL 2013 as the defending champions, I am honored to take on this additional responsibility.” Our assistant coach Vijay Dahiya set a unique record in Indian coaching history by becoming the first coach to have a Vijay Hazare, Ranji and IPL winning team to his credit. Dahiya accomplished this feat by leading Delhi to victory in the Vijay Hazare trophy with another Knight, Rajat Bhatia, as his trusted captain. Gautam Gambhir also played a vital role in the later stages of the tournament. Read our exclusive interview with him at http://kkr.in/news/vijay-dahiya.aspx Shami Ahmed came off a successful spell with the Bengal Vijay Hazare trophy side to claim 2/60 in a losing cause for East Zone against South Zone in the quarterfinals of the Deodhar trophy. Sunil Narine climbed to the No.1 spot in the latest ICC T20 bowler’s rankings after some excellent performances over the last few weeks. He also holds the number two position in the ODI bowler’s rankings as well. Ryan McLaren put in an excellent spell of 7-0-19-3 for South Africa in the first ODI of their series against Pakistan. SA managed a massive 125 run win after scoring 315/4 in the first innings and dismissing Pakistan for a mere 190.
